The low-cost Indian airline IndiGo has appointed Mark Sutch as chief commercial officer of its CarGo International division. Sutch, who began his new role on 1 March, has 25 years of experience in various sectors of the airline industry. Before joining IndiGo, he was the chief commercial officer of CMA CGM Air Cargo in Marseille. Sutch spent five years as the regional general manager for South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa at Cathay Pacific Airways. His home base was in Mumbai. In Hong Kong, he oversaw all commercial aspects of the cargo division of Cathay Pacific.

Sutch is now in charge of IndiGo's international cargo operations, whereas Mahesh Kumar Malik, chief commercial officer of CarGo Domestic, will continue to oversee the domestic market. Sutch is appointed as the airline seeks to develop world-class cargo products and solutions using its A321 freighters and extensive belly space.

Pieter Elbers, the chief executive officer of IndiGo, is pleased with the appointment of Mark Sutch, who brings industry experience to support the expansion of IndiGo's CarGo business. The airline has recently acquired two A321 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) aircraft to support the expansion of its cargo business and meet India's growing air cargo demand. Sutch is thrilled to become a part of IndiGo's success story, and the airline is hopeful that, with his experience, it can achieve even greater cargo business success.
