New Logistics Area for Grains in Suez Canal Economic Zone: Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce's Latest Venture

Tamer Mansour, Secretary-General and CEO of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), and Hazem Fahmy, Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for American Affairs, met in Cairo this week to discuss plans for the establishment of a logistics area for grains in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).

Both parties shared their insights and ideas regarding the proposed logistics area for grains in the SCZONE. The meeting between the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and the Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for American Affairs demonstrates the two countries' commitment to fostering stronger economic ties and expanding investment opportunities.

    About the logistics area

According to Hazem Fahmy, the Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for American Affairs, the proposed Brazilian logistics area for grains in Egypt has received positive feedback due to its location in the SCZONE. Despite the fact that implementation steps have not yet been taken, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is willing to assist with the project's establishment. Tamer Mansour, Secretary-General and Chief Executive Officer of the ABCC, stated that Egypt acts as a gateway for Brazilian grain exports to Africa and businesses in general, and that the Brazilian logistics zone for grains in Egypt was proposed to meet the rising demand for grains.

    Boosting Brazilian investments in Egypt

Mansour aims to strengthen business partnerships and attract Brazilian investment to Egypt, particularly in the promising SCZONE. He held a meeting with the SCZONE Authority during a climate conference in Sharm El-Sheikh and signed an agreement for the agency's delegation to visit Brazil soon. The ABCC is in the process of setting up another office in Riyadh, in addition to its current offices in Cairo and Dubai.
