Overhaul has raised $73 million in late-stage funding in order to develop its risk management solutions for in-transit commodities and support the recent purchase of security services provider SensiGuard. The funding consists of $38 million in equity from lead investor Edison Partners and participation from eGateway Capital, StepStone Group, and TRM Ventures, as well as $35 million in non-dilutive debt from Stifel Bank.
Overhaul, located in Austin, Texas, purchased SensiGuard from Sensitech, a global provider of solutions for supply chain hazards and temperature-control monitoring of shipments, in February. With SensiGuard's presence in Brazil, Mexico, and the Czech Republic, the company will unite more than 650 people from its U.S. and European operations with SensiGuard's offices.
This initiative will be supported by the new money, which will also fund product development for the amalgamated companies. Overhaul CEO Barry Conlon stated, "Real-time visibility and responsive risk management distinguish Overhaul from other supply chain SaaS vendors."
Overhaul was previously recognized for its commitment to giving visibility to high-risk freight, receiving Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 and Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Real-Time Transportation Visibility Systems. With SensiGuard, Conlon acquires technology he previously sold to the company as well as a clientele seeking to mitigate the risk of perishable products shipping in areas such as food service and life sciences.
In 2022 alone, Overhaul recovered $16.5 million in cargo value for its clients and prevented the loss of over $226 million in cargo value through real-time interventions and recoveries. Conlon predicts that with the purchase and its global footprint, Overhaul will continue to expand and track over $1 trillion in cargo by 2023.
"Our technology is capable of ingesting complex data sets without requiring any additional architecture or data structure," explained Conlon. "Overhaul has a significantly shorter time to value (14 days on average) than TMS or SAP integrations."
