    Each element of your shipment that undergoes distinct handling by the driver qualifies as a handling unit. Ensure these labels feature your name, the recipient's name, and any pertinent registration numbers distinguishing your package amidst the carrier's other freight. This step underscores the importance of meticulously proofreading your labels and ensuring legibility.

    To enhance visibility, affix stickers bearing your company name and logo on all sides of your shipment. Given the numerous transfers your freight will undergo en route and the multitude of coexisting shipments, distinguishing yours is paramount.

    Furthermore, safeguard your labels against the elements. If your shipment traverses snow or rain-prone regions, laminate the labels to prevent transit-related damage. When uncertain about weather conditions, opt for caution and laminate the labels, as even a slight exposure to moisture can render them unreadable or unscannable.

    Establishing evidence of freight damage or loss during transit becomes significantly more challenging if the POD is signed without notation of issues. Though the driver cannot wait for package inspection to check for concealed damage, recording packaging damages on the POD enhances the likelihood of carrier liability acknowledgment for concealed damages in the future.

Or does it fall under restricted access locations like schools, military installations, or construction sites? Clear communication between the shipper and receiver is vital prior to shipping.

    In scenarios where no loading dock exists, the delivery vehicle typically necessitates a lift gate to lower the freight from the truck to ground level. Once again, effective communication between the shipper and receiver is indispensable. This information is crucial for obtaining accurate freight quotations.

    c. Are there any special handling services needed?
