In effort to lower the warehouse storage fee during inflation, we have went narrow aisle racking.This construction took us four months but the project is finally completed. With narrow aisle racking, we are able to drop storage by 24%.We as partners will go through this inflation together.

    BIFA Training Initiative Achieves First Success Milestone

    The initiative of the British International Freight Association (BIFA) to attract more talent to the logistics industry has reached its initial success benchmark. Freight forwarder KTL (Europe) Ltd has become the first company to hire a candidate who completed the Freight Development Pathway (FDP), a program launched by BIFA and Manpower UK at the end of last year.

    Trainee Customs Operator Shares FDP Experience

    Louie Turner, a trainee customs operator at KTL (Europe) Ltd's customs department, praised the FDP, stating that it was a perfect fit for him. He valued the informative group sessions and the convenience of individual learning that could be completed at his leisure. Turner has already encountered some of the freight industry terminology he learned during BIFA's introductory freight and customs training course.

    Manpower Operations Manager Celebrates First FDP Employment

    Mat Beecham, manager of operations for the Manpower Freight Development Pathway, was ecstatic that Louie was the first FDP candidate to obtain employment in the freight industry. Beecham emphasized that the program was intended to address talent shortages and assist more individuals in finding employment. In addition, he mentioned that the case of Louie exemplifies the goals of the collaboration between BIFA and Manpower. Beecham was pleased that KTL (Europe) Ltd. adopted the FDP as a means of attracting new entry-level talent.

    BIFA Executive Director Confident in FDP's Future Success

    One of BIFA's executive directors and head of the trade association's training activities, Carl Hobbis, commented on the program's successful outcomes. He acknowledged Louie's appointment as a significant milestone for the FDP concept and expressed confidence that in the future, many more BIFA members will participate in the program.
