Yale Rebrands as Yale Lift Truck Technologies

Yale Lift Truck Technologies was renamed Yale Lift Truck at ProMat 2023 to reflect the company's increased emphasis on technology-enabled warehouse vehicles. Multiple fully electric vehicles that are compatible with other warehouse technologies and systems were displayed by the company.

Addressing Labor Shortages

Yale's president of marketing, strategy, and business development, David Furman, highlighted the industry's labor shortage issues. The consumer-centric design of Yale's non-autonomous lift trucks and vehicles is intended to increase worker safety and productivity.

Innovative Stand-Up Vehicle Design

The unique shock-absorbing platform of Yale's stand-up vehicles reduces the impact of cracks and bumps on the operator's lower body. In addition, traditional pedals have been replaced by sensors that detect the operator's presence and automatically apply the brakes when necessary. Joysticks are utilized to control movement and operate attachments.

Electric Models and Yale Reliant System

Yale displayed at ProMat its end rider, reach truck, and stand-on three-wheel models, all of which featured innovative design and electric capabilities. Additionally, the company presented its lithium-ion-integrated three-wheel sit-down truck, one of the first models with this battery type.

Yale Reliant is an available suite of operator assistance and safety technologies that can be added to any model. It features sensors at the rear of the vehicle, creating a 180-degree detection radius that automatically stops the vehicle when it encounters obstacles or other vehicles. A beacon on top enables communication with sensors in employees' badges, sending alerts when an approaching vehicle is detected.

Adaptable Safety Controls

Adjustments to maximum speeds, automatic braking, and hydraulic lift limits are possible based on the operator's level of experience with the Reliant's safety controls. This versatility makes it a valuable training tool for inexperienced workers.

Customer-Centric Approach

Executives at Yale emphasized the need for a more innovative, customer-centric approach to forklifts, technology, and suppliers. They highlighted the Yale Independent Dealer Network, a collection of independently owned sales and service organizations that work closely with customers to identify their unique needs and provide ongoing support following vehicle deployment.

Three-Pronged Strategy

The primary components of Yale's future strategy are consumer-centric design, technology integration, and the dealer network. This strategy aims to provide customers with innovative, intelligent lift truck solutions while maintaining the agility and adaptability required in contemporary warehouses.
